Coconut Joe, above, and other bluesy performers including Boogie, Jeff Said No! and Friends of Adam provide the entertainment at the eighth annual Beyond the Blues Festival, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Pearlridge Center's Uptown Center Court.

The event is presented by Mental Health America of Hawai'i to raise awareness about depression and other conditions and to erase the stigma attached to mental illness. A number of community and consumer groups will also participate.

Admission is free.
