Two men arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing a desktop computer for a Waikiki hotel have been charged with third-degree theft.

Jeffrey Anthony Caballes, 35, and William Kuualoha Shoaf, 37, who were registered guests at the hotel at 2375 Ala Wai, were allegedly identified by security videotapes with the theft of the computer, monitor and keyboard from the hospitality room at 11:30 p.m. Police recovered the stolen items in the suspects' hotel room.

Caballes and Shoaf are being held in lieu of $2,000 bail each pending their initial appearance at District Court tomorrow.

According to Hawai'i Criminal Justic Data Center records, Shoaf and Caballes have 26 and 19 prior convictions, respectively.
