NBA: Rockets' Brooks out 1-3 weeks with ankle bruise

HOUSTON — Houston Rockets backup point guard Aaron Brooks will miss 1-3 weeks because of a bone bruise in his right ankle.

Brooks averaged 14.4 points and 4.1 assists in seven preseason games. The Rockets' first-round draft pick in 2007, Brooks averaged 5.2 points and 1.7 assists in 51 games last season.

The Rockets open the regular season against Memphis on Wednesday.
