A 37-year-old Lihu'e man was injured today in a motorcycle accident on Kaumuali'i Highway approaching Halfway Bridge at 1:20 p.m.

The man was listed in fair condition at Wilcox Hospital, according to county officials. The accident slowed traffic flow in the area for about an hour.

According to police, the motorcyclist was heading west when he braked suddenly to avoid rear-ending a pickup truck. The operator, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected when the motorcycle flipped over.
