Arendale named Maui's executive on aging

Deborah Arendale has been named the County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns' new executive on aging, effective Nov. 10, it was announced today.

Arendale most recently served as a geriatric mental health specialist with the University of Hawaii, providing direct mental health andassessment services to the elderly. She also participated in infrastructure development with the Maui Geriatric Mental Health Hui, and in consultations with other elderly service agencies. She also has worked with Personal Parenting and Maui Youth and Family Services.

Arendale has a master's degree in Counseling from the University of Phoenix, is a licensed mental health counselor, and a certified substance abuse counselor.
