Kari Higa's formula for winning Pigskin Picks?

"Sometimes I do some research, but this week, to be honest, I just logged on Monday morning and (it was) total gut feeling," said Higa, who added, "I wasn't even paying attention."

Higa, of Mililani, works as a pharmacy technician at Tripler. She plays the game online and correctly picked the winners of all 15 games, which included upsets such as Cleveland over Jacksonville, Miami over Buffalo and Seattle over San Francisco.

She wins a trip for two to Las Vegas and $500.

Online players are allowed just one entry, although they're allowed to make changes up until the day before games are played.

"It's a shock," she said. "I guess when you least expect something to happen, it happens."

Higa said her boyfriend, Tylor, got her involved in playing Pigskin Picks.

"He tried to play a joke on me, tried to act like he was from the radio station trying to call me," she said.

Will she return the favor and rib her boyfriend for beating him to the winner's circle?

"No, ribbing. That wouldn't be nice," she said.

She said she goes to Vegas about twice a year. She said she'll take her boyfriend, "although my mother wants me to take her."
