KATHERINE H. VIERRA BAKER, 82, of Hilo, Hawai'i, died Oct. 24, 2008. Born in Hilo. A homemaker. Survived by son, Richard Jr.; daughters, Beverly Ann McCall and Shirley Jean Araujo; brother, Joseph Vierra; sisters, Agnes Delima and Delia Whitt; five grandchildren. GAELIC KALUA AKINA DE LARA, 78, of Ha'iku, Maui, died Oct. 19, 2008. Born in Wailuku, Maui. Retired Royal Lahaina Hotel maintenance department supervisor. CLARENCE "FERGIE" WATSON FERGUSON JR., 88, of La Habra, Calif., formerly of Waimanalo, died Oct. 29, 2008. Born in New York City. World War II U.S. Navy veteran; retired Pearl Harbor Public Works Center electrical planner and estimator with 28 years of service. PAUL J. FINAZZO, 79, of Miami, formerly of Honolulu, died Oct. 29, 2008. Born in Queens, N.Y. U.S. Air Force veteran; Flying Tiger Line regional sales director; vice president, and later president, CEO and chairman of Miami-based all-cargo carrier Airlift International; president of Hawaiian Airlines; organizer and commissioner over the first Aloha State Games; chairman of the Dollar Rent-A-Car in Honolulu. Survived by wife, Joann; children, Dr. Josephine, Nicolas, Capt. Vincent and Capt. Maria; brothers, John and Dr. Vincent; 11 grandchildren.
