The Ma'alaea-bound lane of Honoapi'ilani Highway from Kapunakea Street to Papalaua Street will be closed for a week, starting today.

The lane will be closed through Sunday to accommodate sewer line improvements, according to the state Department of Transportation.

During the closure, traffic will be contraflowed through the area in the remaining open lane.

The DOT is advising motorists to use Front Street and other alternate routes while the work is under way.
