SALT LAKE
Library hosting four talks on TV and film industries

The Salt Lake-Moanalua Public Library will host "Seeing Stars," a series of four free programs in September that will present an introduction and overview of the television and film industries. These programs will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Here is the schedule and list of presenters:

  • Sept. 9 - The Academy of Creative Media, University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Learn how to create award-winning films and see the results of promising filmmakers.

  • Sept. 16 - Local actor Dann Seki will share secrets on how you can earn money by working as an extra.

  • Sept. 23 - Learn how The Hawaii Film Office helps to attract film projects to Hawai'i.

  • Sept. 30 - Learn the "Art of Story" from film producer Margaret South.

    The programs are suitable for ages 12 to adults, and will include a question-and-answer session.
