Nanakuli man was drowning victim

A Nanakuli man whose body was recovered yesterday in waters 10 miles south of Barbers Point died of asphyxia due to drowning, an autopsy determined today.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office listed manner of death for Pele H. Kaio II of Nanakuli as accidental.

Kaio was last seen Sunday at 6:30 p.m. swimming in an area called "Black Rock" in Nanakuli.
