The Kahala Hotel & Resort was abuzz last week, when actor Daniel Dae Kim — Jin on ABC's "Lost" — completed a photo shoot on the resort property, donning luxurious designer evening attire in the newly redone guestrooms and Plumeria Beach House and Seaside Grill restaurants. The word is that Kim looked ever so dreamy and sexy, in an appealing and romantic setting, but the destination of these photos? Fuggedaboutit, mum's the word. ...

Also looking dreamy and alluring: show-mate Josh Holloway, Sawyer on "Lost." His commercials and ads for Davidoff Cool Water — in print, on Web sites — have found an audience. Like, People mag sported a full-page ad recently, which promotes the sponsor but surely the TV show, too, what with Holloway's on-show look with tangled hair and beard. ...

bADA BING: When HBO's "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini tied the knot with local girl (and ex-model) Deborah Lin Saturday at Central Union Church, a harpist played the "Hawaiian Wedding Song" as the bride walked down the aisle, wearing an Italian white lace gown. The best man was Michael, the 8-year-old son of Gandolfini from his four-year first marriage to Marcy Wudarsk, which ended in 2002. He's 46, Lin's 40, and, according to People magazine, they dated for about a year before becoming engaged in 2007 in the Bahamas. The reception dinner included roast duck, bok choy, 'ahi, mahimahi — plus tiramisu and cannoli. And there was a lucky Chinese lion dance. ...

TRADE WINDS: "Stars in Concert Hawaii," the impersonator revue with the likes of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Elvis Presley and Madonna, is pau at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani's 'Ainahau Showroom — a victim of a soft Waikiki economy. Sadly, Jack Thompson, one of the local backers-presenters of look- and sound-alikers William Hall (Jackson), Denita Asbery (Houston and Tina Turner), Jonathan Von Brana (Presley) and Kimberly Goltry (Madonna), had to relay the bad news: that the visitor market was diminishing, affecting the bottom line, necessitating a closure. A closing-night party was held to thank the cast. ...

Singer Tia Carrere and musician-producer Daniel Ho soon will have a new CD out titled "Ikena"). They will perform one of the selections, "Pule No Malia," at the Sacred Hearts Academy's Scholarship Gala. Oct. 10 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom. Carrere is a Sacred Hearts grad; the school is marking its 100th anniversary this year, and the event — co-chaired by Neva Rego and Edna Hussey — will raise funds for student scholarships. HERE 'N' THERE: Singer Augie Rey landed his first hole-in-one at Ko Olina Golf Course the other day, while playing with son Joe and entertainer pal Cecilio Rodriguez of Cecilio & Kapono. Happened on the 165-yard eighth hole. "I hit the perfect 7 iron, the ball hit the green and the hole just got in the way, and it went in," said Rey. An onlooker, who was yelling from a condo across the street, witnessed the Tiger Woods moment, and Rey earned a commemorative plaque, issued by Greg Nichols, g.m. of Ko Olina Golf Club. The timing couldn't have been better: The golf was part of "Patriots Day," honoring the military; Joe was a Blackhawk pilot in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan (he's now a helicopter instructor pilot at Fort Rucker, in Alabama). "I was almost in tears, knowing I was sharing this very special day with my son Joe," said Rey. ...

SPEAKING OF FIRSTS: Keith and Carmen Haugen welcomed their first great-grandchild, Jaryk Kekoaokauaua Lucero, born Aug. 28. He was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 inches long, with a nice head of black hair. Mom is Jasmine, the Haugens' eldest grandchild; dad is Josh. The tot also made his first flight from Maui to Honolulu on a medevac flight, when Maui doctors found he had a slight infection that was affecting his oxygen level, and Jaryk's been in Kaiser for antibiotics — and has been breathing on his own. So if tutukane and tutuwahine are busy and in limbo, you know why. ...

WHAT'S COOKING: Chef Alan Wong joins Emme Tomimbang on "Chefs du Jour Island Moments," airing at 9 p.m. today and repeating at 4 p.m. Saturday on KHON2. It's a culinary tour, a departure from Tomimbang's usual celebrity magazine format, in which local farm-to-table types created a tasting menu for 500 guests in an Easter Seals Hawaii Chefs du Jour special June 21 at Tamarind Park. Local chefs Roy Yamaguchi, Alan Takasaki, Hiroshi Fukui, Donato Loperfido, Philippe Padovani, Henry Adaniya and Lindsey Ozawa, and Toshiyuki Sasajima (the latter pair from Nobu Waikiki) are among the participants. ...
