Weather: Warm, sunny and humid today

Advertiser Staff

Trade winds will continue to drop off through Saturday and then strengthen a bit by Monday before easing off again later in the new work week, the National Weather Service said.

A stable air mass in place over the islands will limit windward rainfall, but the light trades will allow afternoon clouds and possibly a few showers to develop in leeward areas.

Here's a closer look at how the weekend looks at this point:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. North wind 7 to 11 mph becoming south. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 6 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind between 10 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
