Man arrested in July freeway shooting that left victim paralyzed

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a July shooting on the Moanalua Freeway that left another man paralyzed.

The man was arrested without incident at his Alexander Street residence at 1 p.m. Friday, according to a police report.

Police said that on July 9, a car traveling west on the Moanalua Freeway near the Tripler offramp was fired on from a passenger in a gray Honda Civic.

A 22-year-old man who was a passenger in the car that was fired on was hit "in the torso," the police report.

The man is paralyzed from the chest down, police said.

The man who was arrested was in custody yesterday.
