High surf advisory continues along south shores

Advertiser Staff

Surfing in Waikiki and the rest of the south shores isn't for the meek and inexperienced this week.

The National Weather Service said a high surf advisory will continue until 6 p.m. today for south shores, which will be seeing surf 5 to 8 feet again.

West-facing shores will have surf 4 to 6, but it should lower to 3 to 5 feet today. Good surf can also be found along eastern shores with surf in the 3- to 6-foot range.

Surf along north shores will be 3 to 5 feet.

The recent series of south to southeast swells will maintain surf at or near advisory level of 8 feet for the south facing shores through Tuesday, the National Weather Service said. A small north-northwest swell will bump the surf up a few feet today along north facing shores.
