Kalihi school celebrating its 80th anniversary with Mass, coronation

St. Anthony School in Kalihi marks the 80th anniversary of its founding with a celebration and coronation, beginning with 11 a.m. Mass on Sept. 19.
The coronation event, featuring the school's charity queen, will be held at the Pacific Beach Hotel at 6 p.m. St. Anthony School was opened in 1928, the second parochial school in the Hawaiian Islands under the auspices of the local clergy. The Sister of the Maryknoll Congregation staffed the opening class of 130 students.
