No cause-of-death finding yet for Maryland man

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu medical examiner's office yesterday deferred a finding on cause and manner of the death of a Randallstown, Md., man whose body was found off Waikiki yesterday.

The man was identified as Gambrall Thurston, 57. His body was brought ashore at 5:27 p.m. Police have tentatively classified the case as an unattended death.

In another case, the medical examiner determined a 23-year-old man died from accidental drowning yesterday at Malaekahana Beach Park in Kahuku. His body was found at 4 p.m. after a four-hour search.

The man's name was not released pending notification of family in China.
