The state of Hawaii has received a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy as part of grants the federal agency awarded for the creation and implementation of policy and regulatory framework that would enable clean-energy capacity.

The Hawai'i grant applies to policy work for grid infrastructure on O'ahu using innovative demand-side management, electrical storage, smart grid technologies and electrical transmission and delivery technologies.
