Parking lot at Kihei park to close starting Monday

Advertiser Staff

The parking lot fronting Kalama Park in Kihei will be closed for more than 10 weeks starting Monday for improvements to the parking lot.

The closure will be in effect until Nov. 30, the Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation said.

A $372,697 contract has been awarded to Maui Master Builders Inc. for resurfacing the parking lot, replacing asphalt curbing, installing speed tables, constructing accessible walkways, striping parking stalls and accessible paths and replacing signs. Under a separate contract in the amount of $4,738, Maui Electric Co. will install five streetlights to serve the parking lot.
