U.S. Marshals fugitive task force deputies today arrested a man wanted in Utah for allegedly abusing his one-year-old son in November 2006.

Mark "Dutch" Hanohano, U.S. marshal in Hawai'i, confirmed that Eric Ison Jones, 35, was captured at an airport-area hotel at about 6 p.m.

Jones has an appearance scheduled tomorrow at District Court, said Hanohano.

Local task force personnel were accompanied by two members of the Marshal Service in Utah in arresting Jones.

Jones' son was found in 2006 with third-degree burns over 50 percent of his body and remained hospitalized in critical condition for several months.
