Maui residential refuse payment deadline nears

Advertiser Staff

Maui County's Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, will immediately close delinquent residential refuse accounts that have not been paid in full by 4 p.m. Monday, it was announced yesterday.

Refuse bills for the period of July 1 to Dec. 31 were due July 31. Customers will be assessed a $30 service fee to reopen any account closed due to nonpayment, according to the county.

Payments can be dropped off at the Refuse & Landfill Accounts office, One Main Plaza in Wailuku, 2200 Main St., Suite 175. A drop box is available for payments on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash payments left at the drop box should be the exact amount due. Customers needing balance information may inquire by calling 808-270-1731.
