No. 10 Rainbow Wahine rally past No. 9 Washington in 5

The 10th-ranked Hawai'i women's volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat No. 9 Washington to win the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The scores were 20-25, 27-29, 26-24, 25-14, 16-14. Hawai'i is 7-2. Washington, which lost its first match of the season, is 7-1.

Jamie Houston led Hawai'i with 27 kills and Kanani Herring added 21. Amber Kaufman set a school match record with 11 aces.

In the deciding set, Kaufman's 11th ace tied it at 13. A kill by Houston put UH ahead, but Airial Salvo tied it at 14. Consecutive kills by Houston and Herring gave the victory for the Rainbow Wahine.

Kindra Carlson led Washington with 22 kills. Slavo had 11.
