A 46-year-old Lualualei man was charged today with allegedly burglarizing a home yesterday on Kilauea Avenue in East Honolulu.

Darrell Hidematsu Kaneshiro, whose criminal record includes 12 convictions, is being held overnight at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $20,000 bail for first-degree burglary. His initial appearance is tomorrow at District Court.

A man, 37, allegedly confronted Kaneshiro at 10:30 a.m. after seeing him taking tools from a worshop area of a residence. Kaneshiro attempted to flee but was chased down by the complainant, a 64-year-old man. The witness and complainant detained Kaneshiro for police.
