11-YEAR-OLD GIRL LIVES ON IN POEMS

After losing her granddaughter to cancer in 2005, Dr. Shay Bintliff has put together a book of her own poetry, illustrated with her granddaughter Ileiana's art.

The poems in "Soular Energy" touch on Ileiana's 11 years, as well as the beauty of nature and women in Bintliff's life.

The book's proceeds will be donated to Camp Anuenue, a camp sponsored by the American Cancer Society, which Ileiana attended.

The book is $20.

Bintliff will be signing books today at 2 p.m. at Borders, Ward Centre.
