University of Hawai'i offensive lineman Keith AhSoon has been diagnosed with a third-degree sprain of his medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

AhSoon will miss about six weeks, which is relatively good news considering it was feared he would be lost for season. With a bye this weekend, AhSoon might miss only five games.

AhSoon's anterior cruciate ligament was not damaged.

"It is good news," head coach Greg McMackin said. "I'm glad he'll be able to come back (this season)."

AhSoon suffered the injury in the first half of a 45-7 loss to Oregon State. He was inadvertently struck by a linebacker who had missed a tackle.

AhSoon had an MRI yesterday.
