An unsuccessful search effort today along the coast of Kilauea for a missing fisherman on Kaua'i was hampered by poor visibility and strong currents.

Hanalei fire rescue specialists as well as lifeguards on jet skis plan to resume searching for Robert Nakashima Sr. tomorrow. The search for Nakashima started yesterday.

Searchers found Nakashima's fishing bag this morning at Makapili Point near Secret Beach in Kilauea.

Nakashima reportedly went fishing alone early yesterday morning at Rock Quarry Beach in KiŻlauea. Family and friends became concerned when he didn't return home by late afternoon. His pick-up truck was found in the area.
