Advertiser Staff

An 18-year-old man was arrested early today after allegedly causing $7,900 damage at a Wai'anae fast-food restaurant.

The suspect allegedly used a baseball bat to damage the restaurant's window, menu board and closed-circuit television menu confirmation screen at about 1:15 a.m. The man walked up and tried to order food at the drive-through window and was denied service.

Police arrested the suspect, who was identified by video surveillance, at 2:15 a.m. at Farrington Highway and Ho'okele Street in Ma'ili, about three miles from the restaurant.

The suspect listed no permanent address at booking for second-degree criminal property damage.
