Opihi picker killed on Big Island identified

Big Island police today identified the 'opihi picker killed Saturday at Pohinapale, Naalehu, in the Ka'u District as Len Nakano, 54.

Nakano apparently drowned after being struck by a large wave and swept into a blowhole. Fire Department personnel recovered his body about 150 yards off shore. Nakano was taken to Ka'u Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
