MCCULLY
Hawaii Youth Symphony offering music programs

For the first time, the Hawaii Youth Symphony will offer two music programs through the Boys & Girls Club of Hawai'i.

The programs — a general music class and a band class — start today, but new students will be accepted through Oct. 3.

The programs will be offered at the Boys & Girls Club Charles C. Spalding Clubhouse in McCully.

To register for the program, children will be required to join the Boys & Girls Club, which costs $1 a year.

The classes themselves are free.

The general music class is open to kids ages 7 to 10, and will meet Tuesday and Thursday, 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The band class is open to kids 10 and up, and will meet Tuesday and Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

For more information, call the Boys and Girls Club at 949-4743.
