Weather: Trade winds likely to die off later this week

Moderate trade winds are due to give way to lighter trades during the second half of this week, the National Weather Service said.

A weather front will pass through the area north of the state Friday night, allowing light to moderate trade winds to return, forecasters said.

Things may get a bit wetter on Sunday with enhanced trade showers that will last at least through Monday.

Here's what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 86. East wind between 15 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 71. East wind between 13 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 86. East wind between 14 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Thursday Night: Isolated showers after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70. East wind around 11 mph.
