Colt Brennan is still helping Hawai'i fans, even in the game of Pigskin Picks.

'Aiea's Leslie Kuromoto, 60, won this week's Pigskin Picks contest, correctly picking the winners of 13 of 14 games. One of the games involved the Washington Redskins, where Brennan made the final roster as a sixth-round draft pick.

"I took Washington because of Colt Brennan," said Kuromoto.

The Redskins rallied from a 24-15 fourth-quarter deficit to beat New Orleans, 29-24.

However, the admitted University of Hawai'i fan didn't take the Warriors to beat Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore.

"I figure everytime they go on the road, they don't do so well," he said. "I'm a Hawai'i fan ... when they come back home, I'll pick Hawai'i."

UH, which has a bye this week and will play at home Sept. 27, has been outscored 101-17 in its two road losses.

Kuromoto figured he'd lost once the San Francisco 49ers upset Seattle, 33-30, in overtime.

"I figure Seattle going to win automatically; they're at home," he said. "(When the 49ers won) I said, 'That's it. I lost.' Figured no more chance."

He said his victory was "lucky, lucky."

Kuromoto, who said he's been playing Pigskin Picks for more than 20 years, wins a trip for two to Las Vegas and $500. He said he goes to Vegas once a year and his next trip will come in October. He said the trip on The Advertiser hopefully will be scheduled in November.

NOTE: The tiebreaker asks for the combined total offensive yards for both teams. Some Pigskin players have been submitting total points for both teams instead.
