GRIDIRON OCT. 24-25

The always-popular Gridiron show, in which members of the print and broadcast media make (mostly good-hearted) fun of the news and newsmakers, takes the stage at 8 p.m. Oct. 24 and 3 and 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at Diamond Head Theatre. Yes, media watchers, there's a new matinee this year.

The show, themed "Predatory Pricing," is directed by Christopher Obenchain; artistic directors are The Advertiser's Robbie Dingeman and KITV's Keoki Kerr.

Tickets are $40 and $65, available at www.honoluluboxoffice.com, 550-8457.

HALLOWBALOO DOWNTOWN

Entertainment by local and national acts, a trick-or-treat gallery walk, jack o' lantern contest, costume contest and a whole lot of partying are in store at the Hallowbaloo music and arts festival, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 31 on Nu'uanu Avenue and surrounding areas. Admission is free.

But the celebration continues with concerts from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.: Maceo Parker and DJ Logic at The Waterfront; Mad Professor and The Ariwa Dub Posse featuring Susan Cadogan at NextDoor; and The Helio Sequence at The Loft. Tickets are $25 per concert; VIP tickets also are available at www.honoluluboxoffice.com, 550-8457.
