Kim's heart attack Sept. 11 followed an earlier one in August.

UH SCHOOL NAMED FOR THOMPSON

The University of Hawai'i Board of Regents has agreed to name the School of Social Work on the Manoa campus after alumnus Myron "Pinky" Thompson.

At its meeting yesterday at Hawai'i Community College, the board agreed to name the school after Thompson because of his lifelong work to improve the health, education and well-being of Native Hawaiians.

Thompson, who died in 2001, received his master's degree in social work from UH in 1953.

He served as executive director of the Queen Lili'uokalani Trust, was a Bishop Estate trustee for 20 years and co-founded Alu Like, a nonprofit social service agency.
