Kaua'i non-profits can apply for grants

LIHU'E, Kaua'i --- Young Brothers and Hawaiian Tug & Barge will accept applications for the companies' 2008 Community Gift Giving Program on Kaua'i through Nov. 14

IRS-approved 501 (c) 3 community organizations that offer services related to health, education, civic and community service, youth activities, cultural enrichment, the environment or special community projects are eligible for consideration. Grants range up to $3,000.

Application forms and information are available at www.youngbrothershawaii.com under "Community Gift Giving" or by calling Kaua'i manager Wendell Kam at 808-245-4051.

Young Brothers/Hawaiian Tug & Barge have awarded nearly $145,000 to 119 non-profit community organizations on Kaua'i since 2001 through this program.

The program has awarded more than $600,000 to 480 non-profit organizations statewide during the same time.
