Seventh-ranked Hawai'i scored the first 10 points of the match and moved on to a 25-11, 25-20, 25-16 volleyball victory over Louisiana Tech tonight in Ruston, La.

The Western Athletic Conference match was played at Thomas Assembly Center. The Rainbow Wahine moved to 10-2 and 3-0 in the WAC with their ninth straight victory. LaTech dropped to 2-8 and 0-3.

Hawai'i plays at New Mexico State Saturday and concludes its first road trip at San Jose State Monday.

UH freshman Kanani Herring did not play after spraining her ankle in practice Monday. She did make the trip.

Senior Jamie Houston had 21 kills for the 'Bows, getting 10 in the second set. She hit .341 and added 11 digs for her second double-double of the season. Stephanie Ferrell, playing for Herring, was next with eight kills and a .583 hitting percentage. Senior libero Tara Hittle had 13 digs to move ahead of Martina Cincerova and into sixth on Hawai'i's career list.

The Rainbow Wahine outhit Louisiana Tech .317 to .022. LaTech's attack was led by its setter, Bianca Bin, with five kills. She was the only starter to hit better than .038.
