UH-Manoa student reports sexual assault

Advertiser Staff

A female student at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa reported to police that a guest lecturer sexually assaulted her on campus Tuesday, the university said yesterday in an e-mailed campus security alert.

The student said the assault took place when she went to meet the guest lecturer on campus for a one-on-one interview for an upcoming project.

The guest lecturer has been banned from campus pending investigation.

UH Campus Security said it recommends that students exercise caution, be accompanied by other students whenever possible and remove themselves from any situation that makes them feel uncomfortable.

Students are encouraged to contact HPD at 911 and/or Campus Security at 956-6911 with any information or concerns.
