To quote a title from the score of "Les Misérables," there's "One Day More" for the beloved musical, which raises its curtain tonight at Diamond Head Theatre.

Because of high demand and anticipation, DHT has added a rare Wednesday night performance — at 8 p.m. Oct. 15.

"We already added five performances, but the ticket demand has been so strong that we decided to add just one more performance," said Deena Dray, DHT executive director, in a state.

Because the theater has previous commitments, there will be no other extensions beyond the already-announced add-on shows through Oct. 19.

New York actor Peter Lockyer and his wife, Melanie Tojio Lockyer, are leading the charges as co-directors and co-choreographers of the 39-member cast. "Les Miz" is one of London's and Broadway's audience favorites.

Tickets — $12 - $42 — are on sale at the box office, with discounts for children under 18, seniors 62 and older and active duty military.

Charge by phone: 733-0274. Online reservations: www.diamondheadtheatre.com.

In-person box office sales: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

There are still a handful of tickets left for tonight's opening.
