Hee, Mead join Hawaii Winter Baseball teams

Former University of Hawaii infielder Jon Hee and former Hawaii Pacific University pitcher Kaimi Mead will join Hawaii Winter Baseball as reserves, the league announced today.

Hee, who played for the short-season Single-A Lowell (Mass.) Spinners after being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 21st round in June, is assigned to the North Shore Honu. Hee completed his eligibility with UH last season.

Mead, who pitched for the short-season Single-A Mahoning Valley (Ohio) Scrappers of the New York-Pennsylvania League after being drafted in the 18th round by the Cleveland Indians, is assigned to the Honolulu Sharks. Mead finished his eligibility last season with the Sea Warriors.
