Brig. Gen. William W. Uhle Jr., formerly assistant vice commander, Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, has been appointed deputy director for strategic planning and policy, J-5, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawai'i.

The Pentagon announced the appointment Friday.
