West Kauai gets added bus service

Advertiser Staff

Two new bus routes have been added to meet the increased public transportation demand in West Kaua'i.

The new service starts Wednesday, said Transportation Agency executive Janine Rapozo.

The county has added a 5:57 a.m. service on weekdays to relieve the crunch on current 5:27 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. departures from Kekaha on weekdays.

The afternoon routes heading out to the westside have had high ridership, too, said Rapozo, who announced the addition of a 4:05 p.m. service to complement the 3:35 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. routes.

Another recent change made to The Kaua'i Bus schedule is the addition to route 200 of an on-call bus stop at Brydeswood located at the edge of Kalaheo.

"Hopefully, these changes will address the growing demand for bus service on Kaua'i for now," said Rapozo.
