Advertiser Staff

A man from Reno, Nev., died yesterday at the Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center after being pulled from the ocean off Makaha Beach.

The Honolulu medical examiner's office identified the man as Franklin Hamilton, 63. Hamilton was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m. An autopsy was planned for today. Franklin was snorkeling, police said.

City Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said when rescue crews arrived, bystanders and lifeguards had pulled the man from the water and were performing CPR.
