Hawaii hospitals to get $13M for charity care

More than $13.3 million in state and federal grant money will be handed out to 15 hospitals statewide to help offset the cost of providing charity care to uninsured patients.

Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona and Lilian Koller, state Department of Human Services director, will present the checks this afternoon to hospital executives today at the state Capitol ceremony room.
