Prosecutors have charged a Kaka'ako man with two armed robberies.

Gabriel Preston, 33, of a Kamaile Street address is accused of robberies of retail stores on Aug. 18 and Sept. 11. A knife was displayed in both robberies.

Preston, who was charged Saturday, is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail pending his initial appearance today at District Court.

Preston was identified as a suspect on Aug. 23 after a warrant was obtained to search his vehicle. Police said they found a knife that matches the description of the one used in the Aug. 18 robbery, and also drugs and paraphernalia.

In addition to the armed robberies, Preston faces several drug charges.
