High surf advisory remains for east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory remains in effect for the east-facing shores of all islands except Lanai.

Strong gusty trade winds over and to the east of the state will produce large and rough surf along the affected shorelines through tomorrow, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along east-facing shores is expected to reach 6 to 9 feet.

The advisory will remain in affect until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Elsewhere on Oahu today, look for surf of 3 to 5 feet along north-facing shores; 2 to 4 feet along west-facing shores; and 1 to 2 feet along south-facing shores.

Outlook through Monday, April 6: Strong trade winds will continue to produce rough, short-period surf for east-facing shores through the outlook period.
