Oceanic Time Warner service restored statewide

Advertiser Staff

Service was restored to all of Oceanic Time Warner Cable customers statewide by 8:50 a.m. this morning after the company lost power at its Mililani facility.

The outage blackened Internet and cable television service to about 50 percent of its customers on Oahu and some Neighbor Island customers. Oceanic has about 416,000 customers statewide subscribing to Internet, phone and digital cable, said Alan Pollock, Oceanic vice president of marketing.

Complete restoration of cable services was completed within 45 minutes of the outage, Pollock said.

"We understand how frustrating it can be when one's Internet, phone and cable services go down, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience it caused," Pollock said. "Fortunately, we were able to identify the problem and get our services back up and running as quickly as possible."

The outage was caused by a power issue, Pollock said.
