The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team started off fast, but faded down the stretch in a 25-30, 31-29, 30-23, 30-22 loss to UCLA last night in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

Garrett Muagututia had 20 kills, Jack Polales 14 and Sean O'Malley 13 for the Bruins, who improved to 11-13 overall and 8-10 in the MPSF with their second straight victory over the Warriors (6-17, 3-15).

Joshua Walker led the Warriors with 19 kills and Steven Hunt, coming off a career-high 28 kills in Thursday's five-set loss, added 14, but also made 11 errors and hit just .083.
