Tia Carrere, Katharine McPhee and Rob Schneider were among the stars on set today at Dillingham Air Field in Mokuleia for the filming of the romantic adventure comedy, "You May Not Kiss the Bride."

Set in Chicago and Tahiti, and filmed entirely in Hawaii, the movie is produced by Honolulu-based Hawaii Film Partners.

The movie has an exaggerated comic plot, revolving around an American pet photographer who marries a gangster's daughter, and becomes entangled with Croatian mobsters on his honeymoon. It also stars Dave Annable, Mena Suvari, Vinnie Jones and Ken Davitian.

Scenes being filmed today were set in a Tahitian airport, and take place near the end of the film.

Principal photography began on the project March 16. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide next year.

"We're just thrilled that we're producing a movie in Hawai'i that will compete in the world market," said Rann Watumull, co-founder and executive producer at Hawaii Film Partners, who was on set observing the filming.

Carrere, who plays a cocktail waitress in Tahiti, said she's excited to be part of the project.

"You don't have to twist my arm for me to come home," Carrere said, laughing, while taking a break this morning after wrapping her scenes for the day.

Annable, the movie's leading actor, said he's been enjoying his time in Hawai'i.

"It has been an incredible experience," Annable said between takes. "I'm having so much fun."
