Hawaii weather: Sunny today, rainy tomorrow

Trade winds will remain breezy this week, as high pressure remains north of the islands.

The trades will focus showers on windward slopes. High clouds will increase late today and persist through the week.

Here's how the middle of the work week is shaping up:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 79. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Breezy, with a east wind between 18 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind between 16 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
