Advertiser Staff

The Film Actors Studio, a local acting school run by acting coach Sherilyn Robertson, is hosting its first actors' showcase at 7 p.m. today, with a repeat performance at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the ARTS at Marks Garage.

The show, titled "Perspectives," in an opportunity for Robertson's students to showcase their acting chops in a series of on stage vignettes, including scripted scenes and monologues, as well as comedic improvisation in the vein of the popular improv comedy sketch show "Whose Line is it Anyway?"

Tickets are $20 at the door. The two-night event doubles as a fundraiser for the upcoming independent feature film, "Juke Box Hero," as well as the Children's Alliance of Hawaii, a non-profit child abuse prevention organization.
