CBKB: Arizona's Jordan Hill declares for NBA draft

Associated Press

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona forward Jordan Hill will forgo his senior year and make himself eligible for the NBA draft.

Hill averaged 18.1 points and 11 rebounds this season for the Wildcats, who reached the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament and finished 21-14 after losing to Louisville in the Midwest Region semifinals.

In three seasons at Arizona, Hill averaged 12.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots and he ranks fifth in school history in field-goal percentage at 57.8.

"I just want to thank the fans of Tucson, my coaches and my teammates for all of their support," Hill said in a statement released through the university. "Playing at Arizona has been a great experience and puts me in the position to move to the next level. It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NBA."

Hill, who announced his decision on Wednesday, joins fellow Arizona junior Chase Budinger in declaring for the NBA draft. Budinger announced his intentions on Tuesday, the same day Sean Miller was introduced as the new Arizona coach.

The third prominent member of last season's Arizona team, junior point guard Nic Wise, says he will declare himself available for the draft but will not hire an agent. That would allow him to return for his senior season with the Wildcats if he so chooses.
