The March of Dimes will hold its March for Babies event on April 18 on Maui to support the nonprofit agency's work to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

The 2-mile walk at Keopuolani Park in Kahului will start at 7:30 a.m. at War Memorial Gym. The walk will be preceded by a picnic breakfast and followed by more food, entertainment and family activities.

The organization also provides grants to groups that support its mission.
